Marwood Curriculum Intent
At Marwood school our intent is to inspire everyone to be curious explorers, developing the skills and resilience that promotes confidence and ambition. It is our desire that every individual will flourish and in doing so will lead a life of purpose and fulfilment.
Ambitious Progress
Ambitious progress is about having high expectations of every child and every child having high expectations of themselves. It is about all learners demonstrating a capacity to aim high and celebrate achievements. Ambitious progress is reliant upon the acquisition of knowledge and skills and engagement with learning at a deeper level, improving outcomes for all.
Ambitious progress is an attitude which enables individuals to flourish, find fulfilment and enjoy lifelong purpose.
Respectful consideration
Respectful consideration is about developing a sense of worth and valuing ourselves and others. Respectful consideration is about embedding positive character traits that enable informed choices to be made and productive collaboration to be achieved. We want everyone to develop and apply responsibility for themselves and their behaviour towards others.
The curriculum raises children’s awareness from the local area to national and global arenas. We aim to develop respectful, outward looking pupils who are able to engage in learning about themselves and have an understanding of wider world views, cultures and traditions.
Learning to learn.
Learning to learn is accepting that we are all learners on a journey together. It is the ability to think about how we learn and develop and apply skills to use existing knowledge and create new. Learners reflect on;
- Where they are in their learning.
- Barriers to learning and how to overcome them.
- When they have achieved.
An effective learner will be able to adapt and thrive within an everchanging world.
